General Information
All grade 9 students in Calgary are designated to a high school based on their registered home address and this is the high school where Willow Park School will be facilitating your registration. If you are unsure of the designated high school for your community please use the following link to determine this information: CBE - Find A School
Willow Park School registers students at eight public high schools. Central Memorial, Henry Wise Wood, Lord Beaverbrook, Joanne Cardinal Schubert, Dr. EP Scarlett, Centennial, Western Canada and Ernest Manning. Parents and students are encouraged to attend open houses and parent information sessions for each designated school.
Students that are interested in information and/or attending other high schools are encouraged to visit the websites of those high schools for registration information, course offerings and application deadlines. Willow Park School coordinates designated school registration only. Any transfers and/or applications to specialized programs need to be initiated independently by the family.
All high schools provide Alberta Mandated Curriculum in English Language Arts, Social Studies, Science, Mathematics, Physical Education and CALM (Career and Life Management). Optional courses vary from school to school and students are encouraged to seek out that information to learn more about what is available for programming.
Special Programs
Specific Information regarding International Baccalaureate (Henry Wise Wood for Area 5) and Advanced Placement courses (offered in most high school settings) can be accessed by attending information sessions at each high school.
