Picture Re-Take Day

Students will be given an opportunity to have picture re-takes on November 27 in the a.m. This is also our Spirit Week PJ day. Students may not wear PJ’s for their photo.

School Fees now available in your MyCBE Account

Wanted to remind families that your Arts-Centred Learning, Instrumental and Band course fees are now available for payment. These important fees support the amazing programming that occurs at WPS on a daily basis.

IPPs

If your child(ren) have an Individualized Program Plan (IPP), please check their backpack today for this important document. An email was shared yesterday regarding IPPs.

Food Bank Donations – Class Challenge

Grade 8 leadership has been organizing our next whole school Classroom Challenge for the Calgary Food Bank.  The challenge runs from Monday, November 24 to Thursday, December 11.  Point values vary depending on the donated item(s). See list at the end of this newsletter for the specific items and their point values.

Families are encouraged to give what they can to this very important local charity that helps 1000’s of Calgarians each year.  

Yearbook

Our Yearbook and Photography class is very excited to be working on our new and improved yearbook for the 2025/26 school year. Attached is a QR code to purchase your yearbook that students receive in June. Trust me your kiddo wants one of these. There is a deadline to order so get your order in NOW!

Parent-Teacher Conferences – November 27 and 28

Parents/guardians can book their 10-minute conference with any of their child’s teachers using the MYCBE portal. There will be offerings of online and in-person conferences.

Conferences are:

November 27 IN-PERSON from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

November 28 ON-LINE from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. via MS Teams

Healthy Hunger – Fun Lunches Available

Check out www.healthyhunger.ca to register your child(ren) for fun lunches. WPS will offer 1-2 fun lunches each month. Fun lunches are part of the School Council’s fundraising activities for the year. Fun lunches not picked up by the beginning of lunch the next day, will be donated or thrown out; the exception being Boosterjuice which does not keep overnight so will be thrown out the same day.

Note – we have moved our October 29 Boston Pizza lunch to January 28/26
