Student Drop Off & Pick Up Safety

We must again raise the concern around parents/guardian’s dropping off or picking up their child at school. We are seeing unsafe jaywalking, vehicles doing u-turns at the cross walk, parking in the bus zone, and just stopping in the middle of the road.

We also want to remind families that there is NO parking/picking up in the staff parking lot unless our handicapped spots are required. So many students access the sidewalk directly in front of our parking lot entrance AND we need to keep them safe.

February Is Black History Month

In honour of Black History Month, our staff will bring Black Artists (Black Canadian Artists) into the centre of conversation and learning in their spaces. Black History Month is a time to honour black Canadians and reflect on the history, achievements and contributions of black people in Canada.

WP Registration Is On-Going Until Feb 13/24

Don’t forget to register siblings for next year through the CBE website. We also have a direct link through our WP website, under Registration > How to Register.

Report Cards Go Live

Starting at 8 a.m. on Tuesday Jan 30, families can access their child’s report card through their MyCBE account. No more digging through a backpack a week later to find a crumpled-up report card.

IPPS Going Home Monday

Families with students on an IPP, please note that paper copies will be going home with each student on this Monday. Please ask you kiddo for this document. Teacher always welcome feedback and are willing to discuss and meet as necessary. Please return the SINGLE parent signature page to the school.

Be Brave Whole School Field Trip

We are stoked again to be bringing our entire staff and student population to the Be Brave “anti-bullying” Hitmen game on Feb 28, 2024. Forms are out & fees uploaded in MyCBE. Completion of forms and payment completed in a timely manner will really help us.

Wrestling Practice And Divisionals

Our last practice of the year is this Monday, Jan 29 form 4-5 p.m.  We have our big Divisional Meet on Wednesday from 9:30-3 p.m. at the Sunridge Badminton Centre. Our wrestlers have done so well this year. We participated in meets at Ted Harrison, Alice Jamieson and Willow Park School. Go Wild!!

Volleyball Is Well Underway

We are excited that volleyball is underway. We have 3 teams this year that will be competing weekly. Good luck to our Sr & Jr Girls and our Sr. Boys teams. Go Wild!

Patience With Student Pick-Ups During The Day

We need to remind families that it could take between 5-10 minutes to retrieve your child and get them out the door for an appointment etc. We need to find where your child is, call them, allow them time to go to their locker (play Jeopardy music now) and then sign them out of the office. This takes time. Please plan accordingly.

Dance Show – Tuesday Jan 30

Tickets! Tickets! Tickets!

Have you got your tickets for the dance show this Tuesday, Jan 30? This end of Sem 1 dance show is going to be a SPECTACULAR showcase of talent!!!

Tickets are only $5.00 each for either of the 2 shows, 5:00 PM and 7:30 PM and are available through the office. Providing tickets don’t sell out, they will also be available at the door.

The dance show is taking place in the theatre at Lord Beaverbrook High School.

Paying Our Your Fees

Our amazing program only works with the additional support of our families. We need you to go on to your MyCBE account and start paying or at least, chipping away at your student fees.  We thank you in advance for attention to this.

Students Riding Other Buses

We want to remind our students and families that if your child wants to ride on a friend’s bus, BOTH child’s parents must send in a hand-written note giving their permission for this to happen. We must receive both notes by lunch time. The office staff do not have time to be dealing with this via phone calls or emails.
