Staff Update

We want to welcome Ms. Ali Greenshields who has taken over the position of PE and Health 8, for Mr. Phillips who moved to PE and Health 9 and Student Services; after Mr. Khubyar’s departure at the end of September.

We also want to welcome Ms. Erin Elies who will be filling in for Mr. Jensen who is on a medical leave until further notice. Ms. Elies brings many years of teaching music and band to this position.

We also want to acknowledge the staff who have taken on student teachers this year. We have 8 practicum students learning from the best our profession has to offer.

Remembrance Day Assembly

Today, we honoured the servicemen and servicewomen who have fought for our country and our freedom — both in the past and those who continue to serve today. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to our special guest, Retired Master Corporal Paul Daniels, for sharing his personal connection to Remembrance Day as a Canadian Peacekeeper. We also want to thank our Fine Arts team, along with our Band 9, Dance 9, and Drama 7 students, for their wonderful presentations.

Picture Re-Take Day

Students will be given an opportunity to have picture re-takes on November 27 in the a.m.

Athletics

With the Labour Action affecting seasons of play for soccer, basketball and wrestling, the following changes have taken place. Our soccer season had a wrap up game between the girl’s and boys' team, followed by a team celebration. Our basketball teams are continuing to practice, working towards an in-house 3 vs. 3 tournaments towards the end of the month. The wrestling team will not be happening as the try-out, practice and tournament schedule was reduced to just over 3 weeks. Volleyball will start-up in January following the regular season of play.

Yearbook

Our Yearbook and Photography class is very excited to be working on our new and improved yearbook for the 2025/26 school year. Visit Buy Your WILLOW PARK SCHOOL Yearbook to purchase your yearbook that students receive in June. Trust me your kiddo wants one of these.
