Provincial Achievement Test Results

Students who wrote grade 6 PAT exams last year, will receive their achievement results today. The results will be sent home today in a sealed envelope. 

Casino Update

A very heartfelt thanks to those parents who have generously volunteered their time to support this critical fundraiser. Details will be sent tonight via an email to all of our volunteers . 

Fees

The annual Alternative Program - Arts Centred Learning Fee of $85.00 has been applied to all student’s accounts. Parents/Guardians, please pay this fee through your MyCBE account as soon as possible. This fee helps support our amazing arts programming

Should this fee cause your family a concern, please contact Mr. Marklinger at djmarklinger@cbe.ab.ca to discuss alternative.

Busing

Keep track of bus arrival times by downloading the MyBusStop App at https://www.mybusstop.ca/login.aspx  and register to track your bus using the code CBEFVAQORC. You can also look up delays on My School Bus Monitor at  https://www.myschoolbusmonitor.ca/ where Southland Transportation posts delays expected to be over 10 minutes. 

Masks and Covid Tests

The school still has an abundance of masks and Covid tests. If you would like any of these, please have your student come to the office to pick them up.

Jacket Racket - Winter Clothing Drive

Willow Park School is helping out, by collecting gently used winter jackets, snow pants, hats and mittens to be distributed to children who need them. 

Jacket Racket has been providing clean, gently used winter jackets to Calgary children since the 1980’s. The project runs every year from mid-October to mid-November. Coats, snow pants, hats and mittens are collected, sorted and distributed by a group of dedicated volunteers. The distribution is done through the Calgary Board of Education and the Calgary Catholic School District.

We will be accepting donations for Jacket Racket until Thursday, November 2nd. Please send any donation items to the school’s main office. Thank you to our Grade 6s for taking this on!

Are you Interested in Volunteering at WPS?

There will be many exciting opportunities throughout the school year to volunteer for in school activities/events, as well as out of school field trips. 

To be able to volunteer for any of these opportunities you must have completed an Annual Volunteer Registration Form AND have a valid Police Information Check (ePIC). An ePIC can take up to 6 weeks to process. If you have a valid clearance at another CBE school, please contact the school office to see about attaching your information to our database. 

Healthy Hunger

Check out www.healthyhunger.ca to sign up and purchase fun and delicious lunches 2x/month. HH is a School Council initiative. Deadline to order next week’s lunch is TODAY by midnight.

All you need is name of our school and then you choose your child’s homeroom teacher.
