High School Information for Grade 9's

Grade 9 students and families. Mr. Khubyar has created a blog for students and families to use as a reference tool for “everything high school”. Click on this link and remember to check it out often as information will be posted to it as high schools make the information available Preparing for High School.

Wrestling Season Coming Soon

Wrestling will start at the end of November this year. More information to come. We just received our wrestling tournament schedule and all of our meets are in January so this will give us lots of time to get ready in December and January.

Cookie Fundraising

A huge thank you to our school community for the many donations we received for Jacket Racket. Our grade six students showed exceptional leadership to promote this effort. Our school collectively donated approximately 20 large bags of coats, snow pants, mitts and tuques, that will go to help keep children in Calgary warm this winter.

Thank you to those students and families who have already started to sell cookies for our school council fundraiser. To make the fundraiser a little more fun we have added the following prizes for our cookie sellers!

  • TOP SELLING CLASS IN EVERY GRADE (5/6 combined, 7, 8, 9) will receive a MOVIE PARTY – complete with popcorn and cotton candy!
  • TOP SELLER IN EVERY GRADE (5/6 combined will receive a 20 dollar gift card to Tim Hortons)
    • AMAZON DRAW PRIZES- 10 dollar cards- everyone who sells 2 or more cookie packs will be entered into a draw (the office will enter these names into the draw – as orders come in!)

Cookie payments can be made in cash or cheques made out to Willow Park School Fundraising Society.

Scholastic Book Fair

We are VERY excited to have the Scholastic Book Fair back and are looking forward to having families back in to the school on the evening of Thursday November 23 during Parent/Teacher Conferences for book fair sales!

The Book Fair will be running the week of November 20, with the students able to browse the fair during class time on Tuesday/Wednesday, and sales opening for all on Thursday. Families are invited to come to the Learning Commons before or after their Parent-Teacher conference!

Fees

The annual Alternative Program - Arts Centred Learning Fee of $85.00 has been applied to all student’s accounts. Parents/Guardians, please pay this fee through your MyCBE PowerSchool account as soon as possible. This fee helps support our amazing arts programming.
